research into genre (music)

music

often in this genre , in certain scenes there is underscore music , of course to enhance the mood , and this enables the film to scare people , with sudden loud explosions of music and provoking tense on edge feeling.Usually this includes a very deep underlying bassline. One Film that this is seen throughout in is paranormal activity , they always have a strong bassline in them in scary scenes.

music is also used in many thrillers as character themes , as this helps to build a character profile up without boring the audience with tiring backstories , when they have come to see a thrill of a story. The Music can be used to show what the character is feeling , or reveal traits and the nature of the character.

they also use music to set the mood , not just to enhance the feeling of a scene , for example due to non digetic sound been used so commonly in this genre , the absence of sound in some scenes can help to set the mood of a calm scene.  or , on the other hand , it can be used intentionally and obviously in order to set the feelings of sadness , happiness etc.

music is also used in the stereotypical way of use in title sequences , however in this genre the music used in the title sequences in these films are usually very big orchestral epic sounding music to enhance viewers interest and excite the viewers into the film.
